Hello! We aren't in South America yet, but we wanted to give a quick update about something else really exciting...we are engaged!!! I flew back to Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon and Scott surprised me that night by proposing at the family mountain house in Boone! We just wanted to share the good news and also post a couple of pics! Julie and Jeremy's English Bulldog, Gus, was with us at the mountain house and came out wearing a cardboard diamond attached to his collar..it was quite hilarious!
We are currently in Miami and have had a lengthy layover due to the nasty winter weather that hit Charlotte. We had to sit on the plane for about 2 1/2 hours before departing, which meant we missed our connecting flight to Lima. We fly out at midnight and will arrive tomorrow about 5:30 am. Peru is in the same time zone as the east coast so we won't have any time change adjustments...we'll just be a little tired.
Our other dose of good news we would like to share is that Scott's sister, Becca, and her husband, Jason, are expecting their first baby in August (also referred to as 'BaWay', short for Baby Waybright)! We (and all the rest of the family) couldn't be happier or more excited for you both! We also look forward to buying really loud and obnoxious toys for BaWay to play with :) !!! haha
Birthday wishes go out to my nephew, Flint, who turned 6 yesterday! Feliz Cumpleanos el sobrino! More updates later once we get to Peru. Thanks for checking in!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I was wondering if he would pop the question after all the travels together. If you can do that and enjoy it, you are set for marriage!
